What's Important in an Interview?

There will come a time in a writers life where they will be interviewed. Some may be nervous others may simply be excited. There's no easy way to prepare for an interview unless the interviewer has already sent you the questions that are asked. But what is important is the information you get out to the public in the short period of time you have.

*Some interviewers will allow you to present your own questions for them to ask you. If they do, find questions that you think you have great answers to or that you know the public would like to hear about.

*If this is your first interview, be sure that you are allowing the public to get to know you. Give additional info about you as a writer or author.

*The book/project is important. Remember the reason you were asked to do the interview in the first place. Be sure to shine a lot of light on the book or project.

*Be sure to let the public know where to find you. Are you on twitter, facebook, ning? Give that information as well as your personal website.

*Future projects are important too. Don't forget to throw in what you're currently working on and what the public can expect.

*If being interviewed is not new to you, be sure to give details on back projects that were successful. Let the public know what you are known for.

*Last, don't be nervous. Have fun and get you and your book/project out there.
